Academic Tribe http://www.academictribe.co/ is a collective of experienced and creative learning designers, education technologists and other education experts, working with institutions and organizations to develop learning solutions.
Our network approach is a response to our time, where educational solutions are more complex than before, need to be updated more often and require a combination of skills to develop. By contracting the skills you need, when you need them, you and your organization remain flexible. And so do our network members, as they can work to their strengths, from their location and still contribute to projects that suit their special expertise.
Lx Design http://www.lxdesign.co/ stands for Learner Experience Design. You can think of it as what happens when experience design and learning design meet. In April 2015 Joyce Seitzinger, founder of Academic Tribe, and Dr. Jess Knott, Manager Learning Design at Michigan State University, met and discovered they had both been wondering about using user experience techniques and thinking in their learning design work. The LX Design blog at www.lxdesign.co (and soon to be magazine) was born as a place to explore this LX thinking and involve others in the conversation. Since 2015 Joyce and Jess have both presented on LX, used it in various projects and led a discussion at SXSW Edu in Austin, Texas earlier this year. Find out about the LX Design blog and how you can contribute.
