The high quality of the presentations that we have at the iMoot is what keeps both presenters and attendees coming back year after year. If you are new to presenting at an iMoot - don't worry, you'll get help and guidance from the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

To submit a presentation proposal please select the 'Add Entry' tab below. We'll do the rest, and get back to you to confirm whether it has been accepted.

Sessions for the iMoot are to be a maximum of 45 minutes long including question time.

If you can not see the 'Add Entry' tab, either you haven't set up an account on the site, or the call for presentations has closed.

Thanks!

Using Moodle on mobile phones - intro

Content Type: Online Teaching and Course Creation

Language: English

Description of Presentation

Get your course activities into students' hands!

Students are often taking photos or record audio and video on their phones - why not use this within your courses?

From a Moodle discussion or assignment, students can upload photos and some other items easily.

They can:

  • interview a grandparent, small business manager, graphic designer, or other practitioner
  • discuss with practitioners common ailments in horses, faults on a car, or successful marketing strategies...
  • photograph artworks, food presentation, workplace hazards, or evidence of achievement in the workplace, etc.

Photos in a discussion forum or a wiki can then be viewed and discussed by the class.

In addition, if your Moodle site is set up to use the Moodle Mobile app, students and teachers can message class members,  download  course resources, view the course calendar, receive notifications, do quizzes, etc.

And it’s not difficult for the teacher to set up…
