The high quality of the presentations that we have at the iMoot is what keeps both presenters and attendees coming back year after year. If you are new to presenting at an iMoot - don't worry, you'll get help and guidance from the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Sessions for the iMoot are to be a maximum of 45 minutes long including question time.

Teaching & Learning with Moodle in FIUBA

Description of Presentation

The School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires (FIUBA) started using  Moodle as the institutional virtual campus in 2006. Gradually, different courses were incorporated to supplement face-to-face classes. The guiding idea is the integration of modalities, face-to-face and distance education (blended-learning) and student-centered environments addressing their educational needs, pace of learning and individual learning difficulties. The Center of Distance Education CEaD of FIUBA encourages the use of the Campus and conducts studies and proposals for its implementation in the School. The activities developed through the virtual environment diversify interactivity between students, teachers and content and offer more flexible educational paths with mixed learning modalities, an example is the course for re-takers, that is students who take a course for a second time. An action research process supports the development of multimedia educational materials and study of different communication tools. This approach guides the study of new resources and strategies for e-learning that promote the teaching and learning process improvement. Initially, the need to share experiences lead us to train colleagues on the use of the Moodle platform, on the incorporation of technology in the classroom and also advising them on the design of different educational scenarios and strategies.
