The high quality of the presentations that we have at the iMoot is what keeps both presenters and attendees coming back year after year. If you are new to presenting at an iMoot - don't worry, you'll get help and guidance from the team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

To submit a presentation proposal please select the 'Add Entry' tab below. We'll do the rest, and get back to you to confirm whether it has been accepted.

Sessions for the iMoot are to be a maximum of 45 minutes long including question time.

If you can not see the 'Add Entry' tab, either you haven't set up an account on the site, or the call for presentations has closed.

Increase language training face to face attendance in a corporate context

Content Type: Online Teaching and Course Creation

Language: English

Description of Presentation

More and more companies realise that their staff language skills enhancement should be an essential element of their training strategy in a global business world. Offering language training to their staff during their working time is a great opportunity but is is often difficult to cope with training and office work. Attendance and investment  in training is often a great challenge for delegates in a professional context.

Common issues with corporate training :

* learners often miss courses

* learners forget to prepare or don't have time to prepare

* learners participate less if they haven't prepared

Moodle can be part of the solution to enhance learner attendance and investment. Combining  flipped classroom (and creative material) methodology and moodle tolls such as the forum or glossaries learners drop out of face to face courses can be limited to a minimum.

This presentation is not about a real blended learning solution but more on how to use Moodle as a complementary tool to the face to face course.

During this presentation I will introduce some creative use of a forum, blogs and glossaries in the light of the flipped classroom methodology and present challenges for institutions and trainers willing to apply this kind of approach.
